Strange enough and more often than not, Godly love is not good will or godly ideas. Religion of man tends to blur it as such; but religion of true life in God demands it be torn asunder from such.
Rather it is the expressed will of God the Father in the righteous attitudes and deeds of an obedient son. Not out of compulsion or based on human reasoning, but as an educated and disciplined response to the Heavenly Father’s heart of love. Simple will it be: yes or no? “Do you love me, Peter?” Jesus would surely pass it on to us.
It is Divine Wisdom dwells in the flesh and becomes alive. By this, a son of God becomes the radiance of his Heavenly Father. Divine life reproduces life divine; so is divine love. It forms in us a heart of Love not merely out of God the Father, but exactly of Him and in Him. God the Father expresses Himself through His sons. And we, as sons of God, love because He is in us; and He is love and is our life.
We live because He lives in us. God is spirit and Spirit gives life to spirit; we feed on His love and become just like Him. True worshippers (partakers of divine life, members of His household) worship God in spirit and truth; not reasons right and doctrines sound, but the living reality of His spiritual fellowship with us as His son, born of the spirit and alive in Him who is from above.
Faith without such a love is futile. Why? because such faith roots itself in a place alien to God’s heart and intent. A stranger to the eternal life imbued with an divine order in wisdom and power from above. Yet earthly bound, it is incapable to yield the sweet fruits of God’s life, but only bitterness and death. If it is not self-serving; it is misguided zeals and unwarranted passions. Worshippers of idols rather than the living God.
Be aware of those who walk in the name of the Lord, yet refuse the operation by the Holy Spirit concerning the circumcision of the heart (rid of the ungodly attitudes of the inner man). No amount of the knowledge of God’s light or remorse of losses and mistakes of the past can reform a soul who rejects the convictions of God by blockading itself therein.
It is from such we are admonished by the Lord to turn away from: let the dead bury the dead, you fellow me! Where I am you will be. Even my father’s house, where treasures of heaven is abound in Godly wisdom and love. The two in one. Our double portion.
To this, we give God glory and praise. “Father, I glorify you for you have hidden these things from the wise, but revealed them to babes!” Babes who are fed on divine wisdom and grows in divine life.
