Kim Frey – Notes and Comments (10.07.2023)
Equality, order and peace must be brought to society. This starts with personal discipline and then will further impact family, community, nation and world wide.
We are surrounded by an egocentric culture. We promote our own desires and view the world through the lens of how we are affected. This self focus uses schemes and force to promote personal gain.
This is a a stark contrast to the culture of His kingdom; one that promotes unity, harmony and love. This takes a “greater good” mentality, where relationships flow from a unified love and purpose.
To create this kind of culture, relationships must be the highest priority and achievement.
Everyone has the potential to contribute to this harmonized way of living, but it is a practice.
In this light, every individual is a valuable part of society.
This leads to equality in how we view others. Each individual must be treated equally, regardless of social class or education.
– Every person has the potential to be a son in God’s house, but not everyone holds the same purpose or position in His kingdom.
Equality, in this sense, is not about guaranteeing the same outcomes for everyone. This is where western culture has really tripped us up. “You can be anything you want to be.” In God’s culture, He has purposed His Kingdom order and purposes for us to work together collectively as a whole. We cannot each have the same job, privileges.
“A diversity is required, for if the body consisted of one single part, there wouldn’t be a body at all! So now we see that there are many differing parts and functions, but one body.”
1 Corinthians 12:19-20 TPT
It’s important to recognize that everyone has potential to contribute to this harmonized way of living, making each individual a valuable part of society.
– Realizing we are we are all needed for the function and purpose as His body on earth.
Jealously and comparison are not beneficial. Each has His own portion, divided out perfectly by the King of all Kings.
– To properly discern each one’s role, this takes education and enlightenment.
In every relationship, both individuals should contribute to one another.
Proverbs 27:17 states,
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
This means that there is a mutual benefit in making others better through mentorship, followership, and leading.
Wisdom entails the ability to listen and learn from one another.
It’s important to build a culture based on respect, propriety, and mutual love.
– Righteousness, holiness and faithfulness are important
– 2 sides of love
- committed to God (faithfulness) – love Him with our whole heart, soul and mind
- love others as we love ourselves.
Knowledge, discipline, skill, compassion and righteousness.
Self reflection
Illuminating process of acquiring new knowledge – has to become a living reality and not just philosophy
- practice and understand truth
Finding balance in the proper way is key.
Royal Priestood- involves guiding and informing people on how to live a just and peaceful life. This is one who has a specific call to be holy and sent.
-set apart and knows the Holy Spirit
-know the heart of the Lord
-knows how to be a righteous king who produces peace in the world.
-Sonship is priesthood in God’s people. The target of this is beyond ourselves.
-Discipline is to bring order and justice to the people. This takes kingly wisdom.
Kingship -has a heart for one’s people
-must have both integrity and skill
-must have a righteous character in order to effectively rule
-this righteousness comes from being born again
-kingship goes beyond mere moral or religious piety
-this encompasses understanding the fundamental aspects of relationship and authority
-holiness from within – this is the first step.
-must hold integrity and improve one’s own character
-must obtain skill in ruling (knowledge)
-knows how to do right and administer God’s standard of righteousness (practice this inward holiness)
-partake in God’s nature by learning the Word of God. Logos and Rhema- this is obtained by meditating on His Word, guidance from the Holy Spirit and discipleship. He will supply our daily bread.
⁃ the progression goes personal character, knowledge and then practice.
⁃ We practice in the way we rightly relate to one another.
⁃ Psalm 78 – David is a man of kingly character who uses the skills of his hands (practice) to shepherd the people
⁃ This order of malchesidek is the kingdom of peace
⁃ Righteousness is personal but peace is the effect
⁃ His righteousness is learned from a person, the person as a son.
⁃ You can’t decide this for yourself, you have to be chosen.
How to establish kingdom relationships.
Godly relationships are a foundational stone.
-Righteousness from above is what enables us to do right relationships.
We need to lay out the way we should relate to others as a perpetual flow of life, that can be passed down from generation to generation. It is an ever increasing learning process.
-right relationships take practice
-the way to love can not be based on our natural understanding of love, but rather it has to be elevated. For you can know that you love someone but not know HOW to properly love them.
-3 aspects of godly love
- be faithful
- righteousness -be devoted to the things that are right. Don’t appreciate ways that are not right. Righteousness” has to do with a pattern of life; with a rule. How should our leaders rule? Righteously. Where is righteousness demonstrated? Proverbs.
- holiness
-this takes knowing where others come from so you can empathize (the heart of changing our place with others)
-this takes knowing their motivation and season of life. We can love properly through mistakes if their desire is for righteousness. This is what the verse “love covers a multitude of sins” means.
-You can’t practice forgiveness with someone who doesn’t see that they are wrong.
-70x 7- forgive endlessly(mercy) to those who want to get better.
-In these relationships, forgiveness, empathy and understanding are needed. As people are incomplete and still in the process of growth.
Forgiveness-
Not about rejecting people or compromise, but rather helping individuals who are willing to change and be cleansed.
-honor what is right and good while despising sin
-emphasize the importance of maintaining a right relationship with God (self discipline)
-Jesus had compassion for us, because He understood our trouble. This mindset helps us forgive and love others.
Mercy is only for those who want to forsake their sin.
Self improvement and personal growth are foundations for a virtuous character and societal well being.
-perfect oneself to become mature and complete
-this involves improving one’s character, acquiring knowledge and wisdom, and being able to apply and practice what one has learned.
-action is the ability to put one’s skills and intelligence to use (kingship)
-one must discipline themselves to have a righteous and compassionate character
-one should care for and seek prosperity for others, rather than just focusing on one’s self.
-a self- centered mindset is both limiting and not noble
-The target of this goes beyond ourselves. Self, household, community, nation, heavenlies
-want others to prosper. Take joy when someone does it better than us. (Father love- wants better for child than they have)
-one must also work though challenges together to maintain a good relationship
-work out differences and get better
Wisdom entails the ability to listen and learn from one another.
To practice right relating is a process. We must enlighten ourselves. Bring equality and order to society as a whole.
