(A prophetic word)
In my recent prayer times, the Lord has been showing me that He has sent (through the carnal minds of man who are under the sway of the devil) a spirit of strong delusion to the leaders and protectors of today’s “nominal” Christianity, as well as to its flock; especially those who have decidedly and deeply engrossed themselves in the affairs of this fallen world. They are agitated and have tried to “pick a side” in the trenches of the “warfares” of man at the expense of God’s work and purposes. They are in danger, or guilty, of a grievous deception and sin: we have lost our FIRST love. There is really no excuse if we truly examine our own hearts and if we so keenly love the truth that is embodied in the Gospel.
Our prayers for such people should be:
“Forgive them, Lord! For they don’t know what they are doing.”
But woe unto such foolishness and those who are “wise in their own eyes”… who have more than refused God’s warnings and corrections, but are still headstrong in stirring and agitating themselves and others to invest or even devote to such a deception. And their follies are readily on display.
Woe! Woe! Woe! To such “rulers of this age!” Especially those claiming that their causes are in the Name of God. Their conviction is a “hell-bent” myth and their dream is the bubble that is now ready to be pricked.
Jesus illustrated such endeavors as an old wineskin that will easily burst when His Kingdom is forcefully advancing itself, even though much confusion and turmoil in the world and much violence and upheaval in the Heavenlies.
To be specific: today’s prophetic and evangelical movements (establishments) are, for the most part, a work of man’s flesh and driven by the spirit of the world. They are a spiritual harlot in the sight of God. Like unto the wife of Hosea, God’s opinion would not be kind:
“What can I do with you, Ephraim? What can I do with you, Judah? Your love is like the morning mist, like the early dew that disappears. Therefore I cut you in pieces with my prophets, I killed you with the words of my mouth— then my judgments go forth like the sun. For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings.” Hosea 6:4-6 NIV
And our response should be one of contrition and humility:
“Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence. Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” Hosea 6:1-3 NIV
To examine the root cause of this fallen state of God’s people, we simply need to apply these basic principles of God building up His house: What are the foundation and the vision? If the foundation is skewed or faulty, can the house stand for long? Would a wise hunter easily shoot his arrow when no worthy game draws his sight? Yet, it seems to me that many of us are doing just that. Many are busy “spiritual” bodies without an enlightened mind. Would a body without a head be considered to be a living person? May the Lord have mercy on us!
Or, let us consider the story of King Saul, how to step by step he allowed himself to be deceived and destroyed by God. It can serve as a good parallel to modern-day Christianity esp. after World War II. It has morphed into something rather repugnant in the sight of God and has become a laugh-stock to the world. (I think this is Tim’s main message this Tuesday, which I highly recommend listening to. It certainly begins to weigh heavily on my heart.) King Saul believed that he was the hero of God’s people against their enemies (the Philistines). Yet he had no idea why God dismissed the old order of Judges and installed him as a king for the people. It is evident that Saul thought God’s grace was to serve his desires and bend to his personal whims. What a fool! And what a perfect picture of the current delusion and trap for our warped mind and self-deluded heart!
What then will be the result? Let us draw lessons from our not-so-long past history. Examine the deception of abomination (false zeal or apostasy then unbelief and rejection towards the teachings of Christ) that caused the desolation of Christianity in Europe. I think the same spirit and the same downfall is meted out by God to a greater scale for the Church Age Christianity in the world. What made Europe lose its luster? What made America a land of hope and glory for mankind for the past few centuries? If indeed God is the decider, then what has been undergirding His purpose and His ways through such a great shift of the fate of the world?
It is high time for God’s precious people to come out of the poisonous fog of deception (pride and self-love) and into His Ark of truth and hope, for the pathway plowing through the sea of humanity is now illuminated by the lighthouse of Zion right before us. Let us be prepared for the trying days ahead.
In this light, let us earnestly pray for God’s remnant and all those who are pure in heart and are genuinely seeking the Lord Jesus Christ, even the truth and the love of God.
Let us be encouraged. While the false bride is humiliated and discarded like a filthy garment in terms of its ability to represent God’s holy name, His mighty grace is also being released to the true Bride, who will be more than just a branch snatched out of the fire, but will be planted and will bear much fruit. Let us be wise and good laborers in this garden.
“Behold, I will give you the glory of Lebanon!”
