David: A Shepherd of God’s People
Immanuel Sun continues his teachings on the Order of Melchizedek through the examination of David’s life. In the meeting, Immanuel expounds on the rebuilding of the fallen tent of David. This is a spiritual tent, not a physical one. God chose a shepherd boy, David, from the sheep pen and raised him up to lead his people as a king. This is a picture of the desire of God to restore his people. However, the people of God continue to insist on pursuing their own vision of what God’s intent is instead of learning of the real heart of the Father and the way he seeks to accomplish this work.
David more than served a purpose of showing God’s intent to carry out his purpose through man, but he was also the firstborn among many. The promise and restoration of God’s people through David is a picture of the restoration of life as it was in the Garden of Eden before the fall. This picture of David’s life is a foreshadowing of that restoration to come through Jesus. Immanuel expounds in today’s meeting.
