David- A Witness of God’s Purpose
Immanuel Sun continues to teach about the Order of Melchizedek through the signs and symbols depicted in the life of Abraham and David. God seeks to teach his sons the ministry of sonship under the Order of Melchizedek, which will produce the order of eternal life among mankind. In this way, God seeks to raise up his sons to be the heirs of his household. There is an order or government that God must be able to entrust his sons with for his Kingdom to be governed. This is the foundational wisdom that must be imparted to any disciple of the Lord.
What are some of the things God seeks to show us about a son through the life of David? David’s ability to fight off the bear and the lion, his ability to defeat Goliath were all a result of his faith in God. He knew these accomplishments were impossible in his own strength, but in God’s power, anything is possible. We must have this kind of faith as well. David’s life was anything but easy. He faced intense persecution from Saul, for example.
Why do many Christians today believe in this false notion that God desires a carnally blessed life for man, wherein life’s successes are measured in worldly standards? This is the antithesis of what the Bible says about a son of God. It is through great trials that we enter in. Through these trials, our faith is built up in God, and we learn of his ways of dealing with man. Immanuel Sun expounds on these topics in today’s meeting.
