Discipleship: The Work of God or the Business of the Father
Immanuel Sun opens this morning’s meeting with a report after spending a week of rest with the Lord in prayer. Immanuel describes the burden he feels for this nation, the nation of Kenya, and our group.
Immanuel then offers a “snippet of thought” about the meaning and process of ordination within the Kingdom of God. There is an order in how God’s household is governed via the officiation or delegation of spiritual authority. These ideals often clash with popular values and beliefs as they relate to a modern democratic form of government, or even earthly monarchies of the past, such as the example given by Immanuel, of the kingdom of Henry the VIII.
At this time, Tim shares a word that the Lord revealed to him about the seriousness of complacency among God’s people. Complacency has always been a major entry point for the interference of the Devil in the spiritual lives of man. Immanuel points out that an attitude of complacency is our own fault, not the enemy’s.
We then begin to study the Foundational Teaching, Session 7 – “Discipleship: The Work of God or the Business of the Father.” In this session we begin to examine the teachings of the Lord and the early apostles about discipleship and apostolic ministry.
