I had a dream when brother John Cochran rang me up from a nap. He shared that he was just calling me back yet I did not call him today. I did yesterday. We were puzzled by this unusual happenstance. Then the Lord revealed to me that it is a sign that what I dreamt is prophetic and important.
In this dream, I am surrounded by many people in a news conference setting of some sort, in a building like the White House or something of that stature, where you can be chased by news people. But these are not news people. Instead, I believe, they are American Christian leaders from all different kinds of backgrounds. They are coming for some kind of an answer in the aftermath of a shocking event. They are confused and anxious, trying to talk to me about my understanding of things that are happening. It seems that some of my writings were collected with others’ and were being indexed in a publication of some kind- more or less like a news bulletin. As some things that I had written came to pass, they began to believe that I had heard from God.
As they are pressing in on me, I am trying to get away from this chaotic scene. The group is of no peace or order, like a mob. (Again, it is being pressed onto me as if I am mistaken for being someone in a profession or something- somehow responsible to appease them of their confusion or distress, and should at least comfort them with my understanding). But I do not intend to discuss anything with them- I never knew these people, nor I am interested to now. I, with several of my own, only want to press through and get into the hallway behind the crowd. Some in their midst share the idea that my writings display great similarity with some writings by C. P. and another of the popular prophets (D. S.). Some even shout to me to comment on their point of view.
I am very uncomfortable with this comparison, and with the confusion of my being associated with these names. Yet it dawns on me that they indeed had been sharing almost the same things, but without fully understanding the will of God, or giving any solution to the problems at hand. As I am about to get away from this crowd, I shout to them, “Read my writing, ‘The Time Has Come!’” and I pull myself away into the hallway at the right inside of the spacious building with the help of a few of my own people.
In the midst of all this, I am thinking about the content of my writings. It comes to me that something of a powerfully destructive nature is quickly approaching or has already partially approached. And I had this vision of it: It is like a flood, an explosion, or a stormy force that will demolish everything under the neck of a man, but the portion above the shoulders will stay safe or intact. A voice spoke to me as I was seeing this and was puzzled by it. It is something like this: “Shoulder Mentality will not help the people anymore; only those with the Head Mentality will be able tell them what to do.”
As I was waking up, I was puzzled greatly about this “Head Mentality.” I was also concerned about the part when it seemed as though I needed to compete with others to gain credibility. I asked the Lord to get me out of this, and release me if I do not need to gain insight from Him. But then He spoke, and told me to warn others. (I just read Ezekiel 13 and Zech. 9-10: the part talking about false prophets, false dreams and visions, etc… I was pondering why Zechariah mentioned that a prophet was bruised by his own and was having to deny himself as being one)…
He also brought me back to the word He spoke to me years ago about water levels. It is as if now the final stage of the flood has come, and it has reached the neck: I can look back and recognize the “water levels” rising in my real life with storms or news, from ankle deep (on the street in Austin), to the knee (on the drive back from Lubbock), to the chest (News in Washington DC), to the shoulders… (Might be this time).
The Lord then reminded me about His Government. It is if He is saying that the understanding of the position of the Body of Christ as the shoulders simply will not be enough in the coming devastation (flood). Only those who are comfortable with the position as His head, or are willing to be included in His headship will survive. He then referred me to the limitations of man’s invalid humility, (due to lack of understanding- and for some, false humility), and its hindrance from attaining unto His full purpose for the Body to function. He questioned me, “If the Body does not know what the Head knows, how can it obey and correlate?” As Head, He never intended for the members to be dissected or isolated. He intends for every part to know Him fully and be fully known, each with conscious alignment as have the parts of one man’s body. It is as if He is saying, “The Bride has to be equal with me in front of My Father.”
I have been struggling with the idea that, “we have the mind of Christ.” It takes on a totally new level of understanding now. For so long I have only positioned myself as His shoulders, or even as part of His government (Kingdom), but now I recognize that He wants us to be included in His headship as well. I still do not know what this means completely, or it’s full implication for me personally.
The Lord added another thought to me while discussing it with a friend: The Lord has the government of the Kingdom set on His own shoulders, so that the Bride can be adopted into the headship of God – or the family of God – Father, Son, and “Servant or Helper”.
He also renewed my understanding of the phrase, “double portion.” The Bride’s double portion is the Spirit, from the Father, as a gift for her marriage. She is to be prepared as a virgin for marriage. The son, born of the barren woman, would be her bridegroom, as another portion. The son will have what she has in the Father. Now, review the story of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and that of Naomi, Ruth, and Boaz in terms of the concept of “inheritance.” It is interesting to see the coming together of two independent dealings of God: one of blessing through birth right, and the other through redemption. The Son’s double portion is the Bride, and the Gift the Father gave her. (Now the story of Caleb giving his daughter her portion begins to make sense…)
The Father’s double blessings are the son and his wife. It was intended for the married party to be separated to be another family. The word is in the beginning. This might not indicate of time, but rather of sequence. We human beings have no reference or framework to understand a process without adding the time element into it. Yet we know that this is a reality in the eternal realm. That He is beginning and the end. But it does not say that there is no beginning or end.
Conception and fruition in eternity is merely a thought to God, He thought or spoke and it came to be.
Many numbers in scripture are all referring to the stages of one process, or to the facets of one great work. Consider:
- 3 (representing the God-heads, courts, levels of the heavens, and the image or being of man),
- 7 (for the number of days in a week, of colors in a rainbow or the spectrum of light, of the spirits of God, or branches of a lamp-stand),
- 12 (months in a year, spheres or signs in heaven or visible outer space, division of God’s household, seats in God’s counsel, tree of life by the living river, walls and foundations in the city of God).
A pattern or image of glory or likeness becomes one in God the Son. But it is given by God the Father (seed), and with the conception of Church the “Mother” (womb). But the Son is more than the Glory of His Father, He is God the Father being revealed or known. “Father, I made your Name known unto them.”
Our Father in Heaven in the very beginning made a covenant with the Son, to give Him the marriage of a Bride. (Abraham sent Eleazar to find a wife for Isaac).
Our “Mother” in Heaven also has been crying out for a son to prove herself as being the rightful wife, who has the claim to the blessings of Her husband. (Now, Naomi had a son by Ruth…)
Another thought is that He, as the Head, gives up Himself to be lower than the Head, so that the Body can be elevated into the position of the Head. It is hard to describe this using the body and head of a man. It is like He has lowered Himself, and is lowering Himself, so that the Bride can be Head in His Place. And the Bride is not ready for marriage until she is aware of the privilege, royalty, and honor she will attain unto as part of the covenant for the marriage. She has to know it fully, and truly accept it. It is not enough to only be desirous of the Bridegroom, for she is more than a flesh to prepare a womb for a son, she is also a vital part of the plan for the passing on of the knowledge of the Father to her son. She is to be the helper of Her Husband.
The Body is coming into the Headship of God.
