(Edited by sister Cheryl Lowe.)
I had a short dream a few days ago. It is quite interesting.
There was this building area behind us, which I never was able to turn around to take a close look at. It was our home, a huge place with walls all around. Actually, it was more like a temple as I recall it.
Tables were laid out on either side of its gate. A group of us, who seemed to somehow belong within the temple, came out to serve. While others were going in and out of the temple and fetching the items that were needed or disposed, I was stationed at the entrance, by the end of a row of some simple white tables on the left. I was to pass out garments and sandals to a long line of people.
They were pilgrims, like in the Old Testament times, who were coming to the temple to attend a feast or a ceremony. I think, it was also like a wedding event or something similar. The feast would be laid out in the courtyard behind the gate. In order to attend, they had to change their clothes. It seemed to be a known custom.
I saw two lines of pilgrims outside of the circle of tables, but it seemed that it was actually the same long line, curving around. The people in line all seemed to have come a long way. Quietly and orderly, they lined up to the right side of a line of tables (looking from the gate of the temple). It seemed that they would undress themselves of their dirty garments and old sandals. Some of those serving behind the table would collect those items and deal with them. After this was done, the one in line would then turn to another direction, forming another line leading to the entrance in between the two rows of tables. Along the row of tables on the left, many were busy arranging garments and sandals or bringing more from the temple area through the gate. They would then pass these to me, standing by the entrance to meet those who were in line.
My job was to have each person put on a new clean garment, and to hand him a new pair of sandals to put on as well. After seeing this finished, I would then assign each person to the ones who were waiting for them behind me, ready to usher them into the temple. This should have been a long process, considering the way it was done. Each of us involved would soberly and silently do our part with a very easy, yet very orderly, pace. The ones who were fetching the items from the temple were quite busy. It seemed that things were running out very quickly, which is quite strange to me- as I recall it.
The details of the dream are quite blurry to me now. But I am still impressed with the patience and ease I took in the dream to see to it that each person was well suited with their new garment and sandals. I know that I don’t enjoy such a patience in real life.
Waking up, I was then reminded by the Lord (I think), of the story of the prodigal son. I was puzzled, however, why there was no signet ring involved in my dream. Then the Lord reminded me that this was a feast of celebration. Only sons or servants of His in the temple will have the ring. The guests will have it only when they are allowed to stay in our home.
Another thing that seems to be a bit strange is that there were no females present in the dream at all.
New impressions:
- Recently, the Lord again and again spoke to me that, “The Time for The Marriage Feast” is here in our midst. It is hard to articulate the many details leading to my understanding that this feast is not like the feast of the Lord’s final coming. Rather it is similar to the one that was illustrated by the Lord Himself when He taught in the Temple (Matthew 21-22). It is a feast of His Word, or teachings… We can call it the feast of Discipleship of the Kingdom of God. He compared it to the building of God’s spiritual temple. In our time, it is the Spiritual Latter House, the maturity of the first-fruits company, as the remnant people of God.
- There were no females in the dream. I think this is because the Lord intends for the dream to speak in particularly relating to the idea of Sonship in God. The whole dream was set in the Old Testament time period setting. We were all dressed like the Israelites at that time. So are the customs implied by the details of the dream. Evidently, this detail is not about gender of anyone. Rather, as it should be, it is symbolic of our sonship in God, which is typed thru the ordinances of a first-born son in the Old Testament. Also I missed a detail in the dream: the people who are in the line are from all corners of the earth, and each seems to be from different families as well. So, I think the fact that one being a male from a family implies the concept of the first-born. This should be ascertained by the receiving of sandals-a token of more than having clean feet, but also a valid inheritance from God, like in the story of the prodigal son.
- This dream further helps me to understanding the falsity of some arguments about the ministry (services) of the priesthood of Melchizedek in our day. Some argue that in reality and practice, priesthood in and under Christ Jesus is effectively given to all believers from the time that one is called. But clearly it contradicted the statement of the Lord Himself: “Many are called, but few are chosen.” The concept of being chosen or elected is evidently becoming His Church in Heaven, or entering into God’s Temple, thus becoming members of God’s household. It also clearly indicates that there are those who are to serve and those are who are to receive the service (Matthew 24:45-51). But the guest is more honored than the servants. This order introduced us to His True Services like that of which was given to Peter and others (Luke 22:20-32) . There is a divine order that modern day christianity, especially when caught in the false arguments of laity and clergy by a corrupted system and practice, that often refuses to acknowledge and be taught. Only thru this teaching will one be able to enter the true household of God. There is much to expound on this. In sum, clearly, only those coming out of the Temple are allowed to serve those who are invited into it. There should be no division on such matters, yet the Evil One has done a great job in confusing us, and has some standing in the door- not letting others in. Of such the Lord spoke woes. (Matthew 23:8-13). But to those He establishes, like Peter and John, they will become “owners of the house of God’s treasures”. (Matthew 13:47-52, Matthew 24:36-44). They will be able to lay out a feast of God in the midst of His Own. (Psalm 23)
- Interestingly, people in line need to take a turn in order to receive what they are waiting for. The doing away of the old (death of old self) is the necessary qualification, after the narrow path (pilgrimage to the Temple), for one to receive what is truly needed in order to enter the feast in the courtyard. I would venture to envision it as the Feast of Tabernacles being fulfilled in our time. This turn toward the Feast of Tabernacles seems to be the one also revealed by my other dreams and visions.
