Dream: A Reunion (4.26.12)

Three major nations in Europe have just changed leadership, all brooding policy that will tear down the existing order.

I am again reminded of the prophecy in Zechariah 9 where it says that the Lord will use the “sons of Zion” against the “sons of Greece.” A culture and system of personal comfort and greed will not sustain itself.

Knowing this really sheds some light to my latest dream… 

Reunion with the “old boys” and our discussion about education

Last night, I had a dream in which I am reunited with two of my best friends from my old college. We are sitting in our old dorm and talking about our life after graduation. The one we call “Big Brother” is very enthusiastic to do something to change the educational practices in his city. The other friend encouraged him to tell me about his ideas so I could give him some counsel, as we used to sometimes do. (Evidently they had already been discussing it, as I had not been able to communicate with either of them for a long time.) I am very happy to hear his heart and his vision, and I begin to explain to them the damaging (or misleading) guiding principles that sustain the past and existing system and practices in education in general. I can’t recall now the many things I shared in the dreams, but I do remember this particular detail. I mentioned to them something that was devised or prompted by Lenin (the founding Father of the Soviet Union, one of the most brilliant thinkers in the Marxism camp), which had slipped off the attention of many.

It excites me to hear that my old friend is interested in education, as I had been engaging with the same endeavor for years as well. We come to an understanding that we must reverse those bad influences, and change the way that education is being done, if we are to proceed.

(Note that Marxism is greatly influenced by Greek thought and philosophy, such as those from Plato, endeavoring to employ rationalism to build an ideal state where some welfare system of equality and co-laboring can be practiced.)

Reunion with the “old girls” and help a woman in distress

Then the scene changed. I am now standing and talking with a group of girls in their old dorm, evidently they are there for the reunion as well. Like before, I am somehow privileged to stay in their dorm.

I see a woman of about 30 years old sitting on a bed with her head laying low. She is obviously distressed. I recognize that she is the daughter of a friend, a lady of about 60 years old who has a close relationship with me in the Lord. The girls and I enjoy our time greatly, talking and laughing. Then I know that it is time for me to leave. All the girls rise up to see me leaving. The woman rises up as well.

Suddenly I feel bad to just not do anything at all to help her. I am uncertain whether she believes in prayer or not, as I have never met her before and only know her face from somewhere else. I have an urge to lay hands on her. So, to everyone’s surprise, I abruptly turn to her and ask if it is okay for me to pray for her. Now to my surprise, she nods her head as if she has been waiting for it. I put my hand on her forehead and she begins to weep and great relief comes upon her. Now she is a changed person, telling others about me and the power of God.

I don’t remember very well the rest of the dream, the only part is that the girls ask me to go with them to some other buildings to pray for others who are in need as well…

Impressions:

I now have a vague understanding of the meaning of the dream.

The school or college is the education of the present time, even the teachings that exist in today’s church in the western world, which has been under bad influences like humanism and rationalism. These are ways of thinking that are deeply rooted in Greek thought, and are powerless to heal the wounded.

God will introduce His teachings and His power to His people again. I can’t help but think of my friend as the Desolate Woman, and her daughter as the Bride-I might be wrong.

I read the cited news article above while in the middle of pondering this dream. I would not have written down this dream if not because of it… I thought it was just a casual dream.
