Glory Comes After Tested Faith, Not Before!
When Abraham reached the promised land there was famine in the land. Can you imagine his disappointment? Abraham probably had a very different picture of what the promised land was going to be like. Can you imagine the precarious situation he must have been in having to explain to those with him who had followed him into this place? No solution from God came to him. He then went to Egypt.
So why didn’t God show up when Abraham had faithfully done everything God told him to do? There was a lesson for Abraham to learn about true faith, and it was through the trials of disappointment and suffering that this lesson is most effectively learned in the life of a son of God.
There is definitely no “Prosperity Gospel,” and the false doctrines of man therein, in this true reality of how God matures a son.
