Ministry of the Word of God – Part 2
What is God’s vision for his people through his word? Teaching of the word was meant to produce a people who become a family, sanctified and purified in a household or community of God. In God’s ideal household, everyone fully knows God, and all fellowship with one another in the way of God. At that point, there is no further need to preach the Gospel because the wisdom and heart of God is known and lived out in the way they carry out their lives by those within the household.
It is unfortunate that today many ministers are teaching that a believer does not need to be taught by anyone. This idea completely rejects the process of discipleship so clearly identified in the ministry of Jesus Christ. This is extremely damaging to young believers and is an understanding that is in stark contrast to the truth of what the Bible actually says about how one is to be taught by the father. The process of discipleship is not an option. This process is the only way through which God has specifically designed for mankind to know him.
This being said, the Word of God was never meant by God to be fully understood by man through intellectual study of it. The intentionally hidden mysteries of the realities of God are only discernible through the counsel of the Holy Spirit. God is spirit and to know him one must fellowship with him in those in his household in spirit. The Holy Spirit is always willing to impart this understanding to anyone with a heart to receive it, however, we must agree to God’s terms in how this understanding is to be revealed to us.
It is critical to understand that anything, on any level, that denies this truth is directly sourced from the Spirit of the Antichrist. The Devil will always seek to deceive man into seeking God in “another way” than that which God has clearly revealed in His word. We are to be ministers of his holiness being built, and building others, into his house as living stones. Living stones, not earthly stones.
