Note by Immanuel:
Upon further reflections when waiting on the Lord, I think I have come to some meaningful insights about this vision, which seems to a timely and important one for divine guidance and spiritual discretion.
But first allow me to register a disclaimer. I pray that I am thoroughly free from partiality and personal opinions in the political arena with my comment here. I certainly love and respect the people of God, especially in this great nation, for their fruitful and passionate devotion and service in His name and for His cause.
I alway feel uncomfortable to wade into sharing even tinted as of being biased in the politics of any nation. I sure want to be truly be a “stranger and alien” to this corrupted world and perverse generation.
“We are foreigners and strangers in your sight, as were all our ancestors. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope.”
1 Chronicles 29:15 NIV
However this vision seems to indicate that the serpent is a certain political movement or establishment in this nation (USA) through which God’s work of judgment in the midst of His people will unfold. Indeed, judgement will start with God’s own house. But He will choose human agencies to accomplish it, even their hearts, beliefs and endeavors.
The serpent here is just one of the many manifestations of the spirit of Babylon (false religion combined with its political arms) throughout human history. But in this time it is coiling around the neck and chocking the breathing of the voices of true righteousness, divine wisdom and inspired revelations in the midst of God’s people. If it is embodied as a political construct, then what are its many heads? Evidently one of it, a false prophet if you will, is the current so-called prophetic movement in this nation counterfeiting as the conscience, vision and values of Christianity: it is perverse, arrogant and deluded, in essence, demonic to the core. It is certainly one of the many an anti-Christ spirits or mindsets, ways of man that trying to replace the place of Christ as the representation of truth, light and life of God.
The easy parallel or contrast anyone of us can draw is the false prophets who rose up and persecuted Jeremiah in his day.
“After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor. With a mighty voice he shouted: “
‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great!’
She has become a dwelling for demons and a haunt for every impure spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable animal.
For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries. The kings of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries.”
Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “‘Come out of her, my people,’ so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues; for her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes.”
Revelation 18:1-5 NIV
Today, a vivid example of such a spirit or deception is the so-called “seven mountains” movement, which arrogantly and foolishly believes that God will use the arms and strong will of man to accomplish His holy and righteous work which could only be done in and through a pure, humble and wise heart as a chosen people or generation. It is as if they have never read the true prophetic designation for such a delusion:
“The name written on her forehead was a mystery: babylon the great the mother of prostitutes and of the abominations of the earth. I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of God’s holy people, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus.
When I saw her, I was greatly astonished. Then the angel said to me: “Why are you astonished? I will explain to you the mystery of the woman and of the beast she rides, which has the seven heads and ten horns.
The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and yet will come up out of the Abyss and go to its destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because it once was, now is not, and yet will come.
“This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits. They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for only a little while. The beast who once was, and now is not, is an eighth king. He belongs to the seven and is going to his destruction.”
Revelation 17:5-11 NIV
Bless the Lord that He gives us clear warning, encouragement and direction. He will not only slew the serpent, but also will open its inside. The exposure of which will bring spiritual awakening and cleansing to God’s people.
“Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace.
All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and the day that is coming will set them on fire,” says the Lord Almighty. “Not a root or a branch will be left to them.
But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves. Then you will trample on the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty.
“Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel.
“See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction.”
Malachi 4:1-6 NIV
And bless the Lord that His long-reserved grace (snow caps) will be released. And it will become a mighty and pure River. It will crush the man-made ideas or “bridges over troubled water”, and run unhindered to the ocean of God’s purpose and glory.
“Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.
The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
A river watering the garden flowed from Eden; from there it was separated into four headwaters.
The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”
Genesis 2:8-10, 15-17 NIV
“Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city.
On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse.
The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.
There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.”
Revelation 22:1-5 NIV
What a day! Divine contrasts and retributions, indeed.
What shall we do as His chosen remnant and set-apart people for a strong refuge and for a light-house? Be encouraged and be strong with His assignment:
“He said to them, “Is not the Lord your God with you? And has he not granted you rest on every side? For he has given the inhabitants of the land into my hands, and the land is subject to the Lord and to his people.
Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the Lord your God. Begin to build the sanctuary of the Lord God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the sacred articles belonging to God into the temple that will be built for the Name of the Lord.”
1 Chronicles 22:18-19 NIV
“And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought.
If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.
Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house as the sanctuary.
Be strong and do the work.”
1 Chronicles 28:9-10 NIV
“Now, Lord God, let your promise to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth.
Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?”
2 Chronicles 1:9-10 NIV
“Speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, to Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people.
Ask them, ‘Who of you is left who saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Does it not seem to you like nothing?
But now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ declares the Lord. ‘Be strong, Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land,’ declares the Lord, ‘and work. For I am with you,’ declares the Lord Almighty.
‘This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt. And my Spirit remains among you. Do not fear.’
“This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord Almighty.
‘The silver is mine and the gold is mine,’ declares the Lord Almighty.
‘The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the Lord Almighty.”
Haggai 2:2-9 NIV
