Repentance and Rest in the Lord is Our Salvation
Immanuel Sun delivers a sobering message aimed primarily at our group talking about the sanctifying work of God through the process of discipleship. It is through much affliction that we enter into His Kingdom. This affliction is absolutely of God and performed by Him to purify and sanctify us. It is essential to our growth in the Lord that we endure it. It is important that through our endurance of the sanctifying work of the Father that we remember to take joy and be encouraged in the fact that we are being disciplined as his sons. God’s word says that his discipline is the evidence of His love for us.
It is the sinful nature within that nullifies the work of God in our lives. David asked God to search his heart to find any unrighteous way in him. We need to approach God with that level of humility regarding our own lives to allow Him to be the fuller’s soap and refining fire to cleanse us as well.
Babylon is often used a symbol of a system of thinking wrought by the devil. It is essential that we, as God’s sons, are delivered out of it. We cannot remain there (in that way of thinking) and become an approved son. God seeks to rescue us out of this way of thinking so that he can send us out to rescue others out of it as well. It is through the spirit of God’s wisdom that we are able to succeed in our mission to do this. There is no other understanding, or wisdom, that will avail our success in this mission. Immanuel expounds on these realities in today’s meeting.
