A man is standing on a road. This road is moving forward without him walking, much like a moving walkway I have seen at some airports. This road eventually takes him to the opening of a large tunnel and stops.
The man is wearing scrubs, and is bound by chains all over his body. In his right hand, he is clutching a bag of coins. In order to enter, he must give his whole bag of coins and his clothing. These were the only things of value the man possessed. So, these items would be taken as an entry ticket, before he could enter.
The man peeks into the tunnel to determine if it is worth giving up his only possessions.
The tunnel looks as if it is alive and breathing. Its color is a deep pink. All the way down at the end of the tunnel, he can faintly see an opening with light shining through it. This intrigues the man so much that he drops his coins and clothing. He then hops into the tunnel; for his feet are bound in chains. As he enters, his feet are in very shallow water. This water runs in a slow constant steam toward the back of the tunnel. The man does a shuffle walk in this water, so his movements are very labored.
The closer he gets to the end of the tunnel, the smaller the space gets and the brighter the light becomes.
Covering the hole in the back of the tunnel is a translucent eye. As the light refracts through the cornea of the eye, a prismatic effect occurs and makes a little mirror. The man sees his reflection in this mirror, and notices that he has a chain wrapped around his feet. Up until this time, the man didn’t seem to discern why his movements had felt so labored.
He quickly works to take the chains off. As the chains fall, his lower body disintegrates into a pile of dust, that then falls into the water.
At first, this looks frightening. But as I watch the man, he begins to swim instead of walk. This helps him accelerate more quickly toward the light.
Once again, light reflects through the eye and the man can see that his arms are also in chains. He again works quickly to remove these chains. As he does, his arms also disintegrate into dust and fall in the water.
At this point, the man doesn’t seem harmed, discouraged or held back in any way. Rather, he swims down the narrowing tunnel, like a fish. Under the water, the light reflections from the eye begin to peer inside the man’s body. A chain is tightly wound around his heart.
A flash of decision goes through the man’s head. If his heart also disappears like the rest of his body, will he no longer be able to stay alive?
After a brief pause, the man looks into the eye of light, and is given a sense of confidence. Without hesitation this time, he wills the chains around his heart to be broken. And as heart begins to turn into dust, his head also dissolves until the rest of his entire being disappears into the water.
This dust in the water continues to float down the moving water until it reaches the end of the tunnel where the eye is.
Over the retina of the eye is a visible layer with the texture of a fine mesh sieve. As the water and dust pass through the sieve, they are separated. The water pours down a waterfall into a huge body of water, but the dust hangs in the air and collects together to form the shape of a bird.
At this point, my perspective has changed and I see through the eyes of this dust bird. Over to the right is a flock of birds. They are flying in a triangle formation, but have one piece missing. So, I fly over to them and join the arrangement.
As a group, we survey the land below us. It looks like a huge spaghetti bowl of roads, which hover above a massive body of raging water. In this water are thousands of little life boats, full of people being tossed and turned.
In formation, the flock of birds nosedive to one of the boats. As they arrive at the boat, they separate and each swoop up person by the shoulders, using their talons. They fly up until they reach the massive bowl of highways. Then, each bird lands their person on a highway. The birds remain perched on the back of the people’s shoulders.
As I land my person on the road, the ground begins to move. I then recognize this road. It is the moving walkway that had originally brought me to the tunnel. I keep my talons on this human’s shoulders until the road brings us all the way to the entrance of the tunnel. Here, the person removes his clothes and leaves every valuable item at the entrance. As he steps into the tunnel, I fly off his back and once again join a formation of birds. As soon as the triangle formation of the flock is complete, we once again dive back down to another boat, and start another revolution in the cycle.
