We continue our study of Chapter 12 of The Seed series, “The Body of Christ and Our Roles in It.” But first, Immanuel Sun opens the meeting with a topic about the atoning power of the blood of Jesus. The Lord knows we have a sinful nature and he has set up ways to deal with it. It is important that we remember that our sinful nature will not hinder the Lord’s love of us. He has already made provision for it through Jesus.
Tim Pinson, Jr. continues the study of “The Body of Christ and Our Roles in It” by opening with a description of the creative expression that he has placed within His people. While there is excitement and joy in the inspiration behind the presentation of creative expression, there is also a process in the manifestation of it. An artist stands before a blank canvas and begins to apply a few strokes or splashes of color, and we wonder how anything of beauty can come out of it in the early stages of what we see. The imagination of God is not the same as the imagination of man. We must allow God, the artist, to be the one to complete the work in His way and in His expression without our attempt to change it based on how our imagination thinks it should look. “Surely the artist intends for it to look this way…” are very speculative, and potentially damaging, assumptions to the intended work the artist is seeking to create.
