The Calling of Maturity into Sonship
The priestly and kingly anointing are the two capacities in which the Father desires that we serve in His household. It is important that we do not seek this anointing for the betterment of ourselves. Our motivation should always be to seek it because we desire the wisdom of God himself and to serve as his sons going about his business in his stead. The honor of this position is to never be taken upon oneself. One must be entrusted, or appointed, by the Lord into this place. We must be called by God. This is what Jesus taught and what modern Christianity does not.
Many foolishly believe that to simply confess our sins and call upon the Lord as our savior is enough and that is all. In this false understanding, the fear of God is gone along with the sanctity of his house. How cheap, easy, and appealing to the flesh Christianity becomes in such a false and misleading understanding. We must be approved by the Father for such a calling and that comes through the process of discipleship, which always, with no exceptions, requires a complete and thorough death unto self. One must give up all of their aspirations and desires for their own life.
Faith is not a doctrine or religion. It has a very specific target. We are all baptized for this reason to be born again. The evidence of our faith is the belief in the life about which Jesus taught (not one’s idea of what your life should be like, as Western culture inspires). The notion that we are baptized into a denomination or institutional church is nowhere found in the Bible. Anyone insisting on the uniqueness of their denominational traditions only succeeds in obscuring the real truth that Jesus taught.
Today Jesus is calling you back to the real truth of faith in sonship. It is never too late to re-chart your course back to God’s true way and wisdom. Immanuel Sun expounds on these topics in today’s meeting.
