Immanuel Sun talks about the differentiation of the wisdom from above from the wisdom from below. The author of Hebrews was well aware that the wisdom of the Father, as taught by Jesus Christ, would absolutely burst the symbolic wineskin holding the traditional beliefs of God’s people. In the book of John, when Jesus was talking to Nicodemus, He told him that he must be born again to comprehend and understand God’s wisdom from above. Without this spiritual rebirth, it is impossible for man to comprehend God’s wisdom. It could not co-exist with the beliefs held by the Jews in the day of Jesus and His apostles. Nicodemus was unwilling to let go of this traditional understanding, which is why Jesus was unable to fellowship with him in the wisdom of the Father. Merely being a good, righteous man is not enough to comprehend the wisdom from above. This reality is certainly true of the church today. Immanuel expounds on this truth in today’s teaching on the Order of Melchizedek.
