The Spirit of Restoration
God is in the process of summing up the age of the Gentiles. What we teach will be instrumental in the fulfillment of that reality. For everything there is a time and place, and when the season changes, the environment shifts to facilitate the building of the foundation upon which a new season’s purpose will be established.
There were many misunderstandings in Jesus’ day about what the Messiah would be like and how he would carry out the fulfillment of God’s plan. Immanuel illustrates this misunderstanding by using the Apostle Peter as an example. Peter was set up to fail, and he did so over and over again. This is because through the story of the reconciliation of Peter’s life, a much greater truth is revealed— 1) the nature of his personal relationship with Jesus, and 2) how one is to labor for God.
Are these not the fundamental problems in the church of today that cause man to fall well short of the intent of Jesus’ ministry? We really don’t know who Jesus is, and in the state of that ignorance, we don’t know how to relate to him. Because we don’t know him, we can’t possibly know how to labor as a true son of God in carrying out the Great Commission in the way the Father desires. There is only one way to achieve true enlightenment of Jesus’ way in carrying out His ministry in the wisdom of the Father, and that is through discipleship. Immanuel Sun expounds on this in today’s meeting.
