AN INVITATION: TO THE BRIDE WHO LEANS

2/7/26

A Call to Emerge From the Wilderness Leaning on the Beloved

There is a cave many of us have seen in the Spirit, in dreams, in visions, in quiet impressions. It is not a physical place, but a spiritual reality for a season where God has been sheltering and forming His people. What was once a womb of mercy, has now shifted. This cave has now become a place of emergence. God is inviting His people to move forward into what is new, and unknown. And although this transition may feel unsettling, God desires His people to know, that this invitation carries His eternal perfection, His promise, His beauty, and the endless treasures from the storehouse of His own heart.

THE VISION

Several months ago, I had an experience with the Lord that changed my life. I had a vision, but several of my senses were involved. I could actually feel, physically, what was taking place.

I was in a dark cave, lying on a bed of stones covered in ashes, asleep.

I was awakened by a knock at the door.

I was hesitant to answer, unsure who could be knocking at this hour. It was made evident to me that I had been brought to this place to recover from my injuries. My body was in rough shape, just as it is in real life. Yet I was clean, clothed, cared for.

Then I heard His familiar voice, “It’s time to arise, My love.”

I could not see Him, but I felt Him gently move the hair from my ear as He spoke, like He was already inside.

I immediately rose, and limped my way to the door as quickly as I could. When I arrived, I had to slightly lean against the stone doorway to hold myself up. My body was weak, everything ached but my heart was distracted somehow from the pain. As I opened the door, He stood firm, His eyes burning like fire. I remember thinking, “This is not what I imagined. I thought my body would be healed when I saw Him face to face.” My legs trembled beneath me, but His smile remained gentle, loving, reassuring.

I stood there in silence, never taking my gaze from His eyes. But, He did not step across the threshold.

He just waited.

And in that moment, I understood something I had never understood before. I was not opening the door for Him to come in. This time, He was inviting me to step out.

The cave was a place of recovery, when I needed shelter. It was a place of tending, and learning how to fully trust. It was a place of learning my true identity, and that to die to the old, makes room for the new.

And just the look in His eyes was enough, His nearness was close enough. I did not need the doorway anymore.Very naturally, almost without thinking, I shifted my weight. Not onto my feet, but into Him.

I rāp̄aq …I leaned.

Not partially, not carefully.
I let my full weight fall against Him.
All of me.

“Who is this coming up from the wilderness, leaning on her beloved?…”
Song of Songs 8:5–7 NIV

THE MOMENT EVERYTHING SHIFTED

It felt like fear for a brief moment, the flutter in my stomach, the rush in my chest, but it wasn’t fear. It was ecstasy. It was the thrill of stepping into something I had never known but somehow recognized. The unknown can feel like fear until you realize it is actually faith waking up. This was the other side of the cross! So many things stirred my spirit. Isaiah 61 in particular. The oil of joy, that replaces the sorrow. The giving of one life (death), so that one can receive a whole new life. This a completely different kind of death. A bride on her wedding day gives away her old identity, but she does this with joy because she is filled with the expectancy of Fellowship, hope, and a whole new inheritance to receive.

The moment my heart leaned, my mind already knew, He was there to catch me. The flash in His eyes told me everything.. His eyes burned with the desire of His knowing, that same feeling of ecstasy stirred within me. This was not just an invitation, it was recognition. I didn’t have to test it. I didn’t have to steady myself. I knew. He knew.

Something aligned in the heavenly realms. It was the same kind of moment when the Father said, “This is My Son, in whom I am well pleased.” It was the moment of being named, claimed, and marked as His own. This is where authority comes from. This is covenant. This is the moment His Name rests on you.

And here is what I learned.

It is not your strength that holds you. I am stubborn and strong- willed. I have grit and determination, good habits. Fierce dedication. None of it mattered. It took my whole hearted trust and surrender.

In the oath God swore to His own self.

This is hesed, the covenant love that binds God to God, the love that finishes what we cannot, the love that upholds us, when we have no strength left, the love that carries the work to completion because His nature cannot fail.

This is why leaning matters. Leaning is the proof of identity. Leaning is the evidence of belonging. Leaning is the posture all of heaven recognizes.

When you lean, you are stepping into the covenant God already established, the covenant upheld by His own Name, the covenant sealed by His own oath, the covenant sustained by His own nature.

This is the moment when His covenant love takes over. Not because you are strong, but because He is faithful.

From that moment on, whatever He invites me into becomes my willing “yes”, offered with the fullest joy of my heart.

THE HEBREW WORD: רָפַק — rāp̄aq

To my knowledge, this is the only time this word “leaning” (rāp̄aq) is used in Scripture.

ר — Resh (head, person, will)
פ — Pe (mouth, breath, expression)
ק — Qof (what lies beyond, the horizon, the unseen)

Leaning is not merely a posture of the body. It is the outward expression of an inward surrender. It reveals what is flowing from the inner life.

It is the movement of a heart that has released its need, to hold itself up. It is the step into the unknown place where support must come from God alone.

Together, the letters form a living picture:

The bride releases her own strength and rests into what is beyond herself, the Covenant faithfulness of God.

This is very much like the ancient rhythm of wu wei, moving with the current of a river, not forcing the flow, but yielding to he river that already knows the way.

IDENTITY: WHO SHE HAS BECOME, BY INHERITANCE

This question is not about where she has been. It is about who she has become, by inheritance, when she took on His name.

The wilderness does not define her. Leaning does. Her identity is no longer shaped by her strength or authority, her striving, or her own survival. Her identity is formed by union, in the One she leans upon, His inheritance becomes her own.

This is the mystery of sonship and bridal identity. We do not become who we are, by any of our own strength or merit, but by leaning fully, fully surrendering the old identity, and letting the new identity of the eternal and incorruptible seed be transformed within you.

And this is one of the mysterious wonders of being a born again spiritual being, a Son of God, being renewed into the mind of Christ. The Holy Spirit shines light into every place the enemy has tried to use to keep us separated from God, separated from one another, and separated from the Kingdom of Heaven. Wherever God’s light shines, He is bringing healing, growth, and restoration into His glorious Kingdom that has no limitations.

To lean is the seal of a life, fully dependent and intertwined with her beloved, one who no longer has to manage her own future. One who can truly say in the heart…

“I give to You, and entrust to you my life.
Your house is my home,
Your Name is my joy,
Your will is my safety.
I trust in Your sovereignty.”

THE STATE OF THE CHURCH IN THIS MOMENT
We can all see the Church, the body of Christ is under great distress in this hour. She is disjointed, and much is being shifted and shaken. My own physical body is a pretty clear picture of the outward state of the Church.

But, we must not forget an important truth of the deeper waters of God’s work is not in the outer world around us, but the inner life. And those who have the life of the Spirit are to those now to whom I speak. The Body of Christ is in a crisis of trust. By the steadfast mercy and covenant love of God for His people, the Father is this very hour unsettling what gives us false peace and false hope. Pay attention. He is exposing fractures in unity, first with Him, and with one another. He is dismantling what blinds us and what keeps us from moving unto perfection and unity. Do not be distracted by the lower things. They are placed by the Father. But not always in the way our carnal minds may think. Only a spiritually governed mind can perceive such things and this must be trained. This is a privilege to be trained in this way and those equipped to train know who they are to instruct. To those who seek, you will find.

This has not been punishment, but the preparation. It has been the training ground. His covenant love that does not fail, that does not withdraw, or forget.

Because of His great mercy for His Church, there is now a remnant rising in this hour who will be filled to overflow, so they may bring healing to the Church, who globally is in crisis. These are not chosen by age, location, genealogy, theology, numbers or visibility, or preference of man, but by alignment recognized in heaven. These ones refuse to settle for safety, recognition, or inherited traditions. They are a people who carry the spirit of Caleb and Joshua, those who see the same landscape as everyone else, but interpret it through the God’s covenant faithfulness and His perspective. That is their weapon of war. They carry the reverent fear of the Lord, the Lord of Angel Armies.

It is decision time for God’s people and a line is in the sand has been drawn in the invisible realms of the heart.

Pioneers of the new life, or settlers in the old? Pioneers, always yielding and changing with the cloud by day and fire by night, or settlers who stay and protect what is familiar?

This is not about our individuality.

It is about our allegiance.

Choose from which house you would like your inheritance to be built.

Again, this speaks of what lies beyond us, beyond our strength, beyond our understanding, beyond the familiar ground we know how to stand on. It is proof that we have covenanted with Him. It proves in our actions. We are proven trustworthy.

The evidence makes itself known in the invisible realms.

We’ve now entered a season where what has been forming in the unseen is beginning to break the surface, accelerating into visible fruit.

The Lord says,
“Consecrate yourself fully. Test Me in this and see what I will do.I will open the treasury of heaven to you. I will allow you to collect a portion of your inheritance, so that My House will be full of the reverent fear of the Lord.
Out of My House will pour blessings to overflow, more than what can be contained.”

He is inviting us into the place we brace, the place where we stop trying to carry it all ourselves, and we find rest against His strength alone.

THE PRIVILEGE OF CONSECRATION

I want us to see the privilege of what the Lord is inviting us into. When He says, “Consecrate yourself fully,” He is not placing a burden on us. He is opening a door.

This invitation is an honor. It should awaken holy reverence in us, the kind that brings joy, not fear.

He is inviting us into trust.

He is inviting us into surrender.

He does not rush this work. He will not push or force us. He meets each of us, where we are, and leads us, at the pace our hearts can bear. That is His nature.

Consecration cannot be viewed as pressure. It is a privilege, a grace not afforded to many. As the Father works in the slow, steady unfolding of trust, a gentle process begins to take shape, a process of learning to lean, to yield, and to be held. You do not need to worry or strive; you only need to trust, to follow wholeheartedly, and to obey where the Holy Spirit leads.

He is the perfect guide. He searches the deepest parts of both man and God, knowing all, and mediates every step with wisdom and care. And as this work unfolds in His perfect timing, a rhythm emerges, of wholehearted trust and willing surrender.

“Who is this coming up from the wilderness leaning on her beloved? Under the apple tree I roused you; there your mother conceived you, there she who was in labor gave you birth. Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away. If one were to give all the wealth of one’s house for love, it would be utterly scorned.”
Song of Songs 8:5–7 NIV

This is what God recognizes. That is what heaven recognizes. That is what seals the covenant.

And when we respond to Him in this way, His covenantal love, His hesed, moves us. It finishes what we cannot. It aligns what we cannot fix. It restores what we cannot heal. It carries what we do not have the strength to hold.

This is why God says,

“Test Me in this and see what I will do.”

He is not challenging us. He is inviting us.

Try Me. Lean into Me. Bring Me into every fiber of your being. Let me transform you. Watch what I will open up inside of you, if you trust Me with your whole life. Build a new life with Me, and My people. You will be my people and I will be Your God.

When we consecrate ourselves fully, we become the storehouse of His treasury, the place where He builds Himself, the place where His life flows, the place where His Name rests.

We become part of His family. We take on His Name. We become His inheritance, and then He builds Himself so we carry out His inheritance on the earth.

We become His living representation. We become His living river.

This invitation goes far beyond our personal sin. God is limitless, and His Kingdom is limitless. To walk with a limitless God, we must carry the heart of a pioneer, meek, moldable, willing to step into the unknown and the vastness of who He is. Settlers cling to what is familiar, but pioneers move with the Spirit into the expanse of His love.

This is what He is inviting us into.

THE CALL BEFORE US

He is not inviting us into more effort. He is inviting us into the place we intertwine. The process where we become One. It’s all measured in perfect timing.

He is inviting us into the lean, the full release of our weight into Him. A place of union. A place of rest.

This is how we step through the door together.

If you feel the stirring, the unsettling, but also a clarity, and pull to respond. Lean. Align. Consecrate yourself fully.

There is a people being gathered.

Ones who lean upon the Beloved
