Judgement Within God’s House – Part 3
Immanuel Sun completes a series on the judgment within the house of God. God seeks to produce a genuine humility in his people. The spirit of independence and lawlessness runs wild in the church today. Two attitudes that are very prevalent among many of God’s people are a victim’s mindset and an attitude of entitlement. Both are forbidden in the house of God. The truth of God is non-negotiable, and we must yield to it. If we don’t, we are an unacceptable sacrifice at his altar.
In Old Testament times, if one presented a poorly cared for sheep as a sacrifice unto God, would the priest accept it? Was it the priest’s job to make the unacceptable offering acceptable? No. It was our job to care for the sheep. If it is unacceptable, then it is evident that we failed in caring for the sheep offered. If we are to be the sacrifice before God in relation to this example, are we acceptable under God’s standards? Do we even care to have ourselves checked by asking that question? If we do ask, do we really want to hear the answer with a heartfelt willingness to change in accordance with what that answer reveals? Unfortunately, the complacency of many Christians today introduces a great deal of dishonesty with self in truly dealing with our unfit nature. Many would rather remain unsuitable in their complacency toward God’s truth as it relates to this matter. Our unyielding ways are at the core of God’s judgment. We can flood the altar with tears, but if we refuse to change our heart, is that true repentance that pleases God? Immanuel expounds on these topics in this pointed and critical message for God’s people in this season.
